Solid geometry
An interactive learning material to observe 3D solids, cut them with a plane to see the cross-section, and unfold the solid into a net to understand the relationships between faces.
A cutting plane passing through a 3D solid creates a cross-section; the solid can also be unfolded flat into a net.
The cross-section changes shape when the position and orientation of the cutting plane change; the faces of the net still share the same edges when folded back.
The cross-section is not always a shape with a familiar name — only special positions give a square, rectangle or regular hexagon.
Cube
Rotate the solid freely for an overview, then choose Cross-section or Net to explore in detail.
