Chemistry · Reaction Rate
Experiments investigating factors that affect reaction rate: concentration, temperature, surface area and catalyst, measuring gas volume over time.
Reaction rate is judged by gas evolution time and collected gas volume. Change one factor and run again to compare.
Compare the time until the reaction finishes and the slope of the gas volume curve when changing concentration, temperature, surface area or catalyst.
Reaction order is determined experimentally, not from stoichiometric coefficients. Constants in this model (Ea, surface factor, catalyst effect) are model values, not experimental constants.
