The septa separate the two sides of the heart: blood does not pass directly from the right to the left ventricle. The septa are not separately selectable in this model.
Red/blue indicate oxygen-rich/poor blood. Real blood is never blue.
Lungs, sternum, spine and diaphragm locate the heart. This context does not include ribs.
Model notes
- The two anterior valve leaflets and a left ventricular papillary group were added from BodyParts3D. Chordae remain combined with leaflets; surfaces and junctions are simplified. Do not use this model for measurement or diagnosis.
- The model includes two mitral leaflets, three tricuspid leaflets and five papillary muscle groups. Chordae are grouped with leaflet meshes; junctions remain simplified.
- The coronary arteries and cardiac veins are representative branches, not the full vascular tree.
- Only the thoracic part of the inferior vena cava is included; the thoracic aorta is cropped in the overview so the heart fills the frame.
- The chest layer is for orientation only and is not to scale with a full thorax.
- The resource does not simulate mechanical contraction; blood direction is conveyed by highlighting and a labelled arrow diagram.
